Vegan Baking: Cakes & Desserts Class


Baking can be a tricky business – and even more complicated when you take out the eggs and dairy! So how do you bake incredible cakes or rich airy mousse with only plant-based ingredients? Join this sweet hands-on workshop and I’ll show you how.

On the menu

  • Soft and light coconut cupcakes

  • Perfect pipe-able vegan buttercream

  • Rich chocolate mousse with a raspberry coulis

  • Versatile handmade shortcrust pastry with a cherry pie filling

Please note: all recipes in this workshop are nut-free and vegan. We cannot cater for other dietary requirements.

Course content

  • Common vegan substitutes – and how/when to use them

  • Simple baking dos and don’ts

  • Demonstration and hands-on cooking (in small groups) to follow recipes

  • The basics of buttercream and piping

  • Vegan shortcrust pastry from scratch

Please come prepared

  • All participants must wear closed-in shoes

  • Bring an apron – or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy

  • We’ve cut out disposable plastics, so please bring your own food containers to take any leftovers home

  • Arrive up to 15 minutes before the class start time

  • Our class size maximum is 12. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the course may be postponed, or cancelled and a refund issued.

  • Please try to be punctual. Late arrivals can cause disruptions and delays for the other participants.

  • Tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer to another class date if there is space available, or a friend may come in your place.
